    The system used is based on the principle of elimination round and final round . Here are the rounds in the Public Speaking competition .

    THEMES OF SPEECH CONTEST

    A. PRELIMINARY ROUND (DEMONSTRATION SPEAKING)

    B. FINAL ROUND (PUBLIC ADDRESS)

    Rules for Speech Contest
    1. Each participant at the eliminary round must prepare materials on their own. the best 10 participants selected will  enter into the final round . ( In elimination round the type of speech is Demonstration Speech ) .
    2. Participants who entered final round must prepare materials on their own. ( In Final Round the type of speech is Public Address)
    3. The duration of each participants is 5-7 minutes During the speech the participant will be given notice of their time by knocking in overtime.
    4. The winner of the speech is determined by the performanceand content of the speech
    ·         Pronunciation (20%)  which includes elements of accuracy in pronouncing vocabulary
    ·         Grammar and Word Choice (15%) which includes grammatical correctness and suitability of the use of the choice of words or terms in delivering speeches.
    ·         Fluency (15%) which include Fluency in English when delivering a speech.
    ·         Performance (20%) which includes how to speak in public , expression , voice , and intonation in delivering speeches.
    ·         Content (30%) which includes the contents linkage to the selected theme .
    Point of content :
    ·         Speech Development is the way the speaker puts ideas together so the audience can understand them. The speech is structured around a purpose, and this structure must include an opening, body and conclusion. (10%)
    ·         Effectiveness is measured in part by the audience’s reception of the speech, but a large part is your subjective judgement of how the speech came across.(10%)
    ·         Speech Value justifies the act of speaking. The speaker has a responsibility to say something meaningful and original to the audience. (10%)
    5. When delivering a speech, participants are allowed to bring a small note containing an outline of the speech, but participants are not allowed to bring the text of his speech.

    Rules for Newscasting
    1. In the eliminary round the material is given by their own.. The type of News Casting in the eliminary round is Radio News Casting.  The best 10 participants selected will  enter into the final round.
    2. In the final round, the material is given by the comitte. The type of News Casting in the final round is TV News Casting.
    3. The duration of each participants is 3-5 minutes During the speech the participant will be given notice of their time by knocking in overtime.
    4. Assessment score:
    ·         Accuracy (20%)
    ·         Fluency (20%)
    ·         Articulation (20%)
    ·         Intonation (20%)
    ·         Facial Expression (10%)
    ·         Tone and Gesture. (10%)

    Rules for Story Telling
    1. In the eliminary round, the participants prepare the material on their own with theme of the story is Sadness. The best 10 participants will enter the final round.
    2. In the final round, the participants prepare the material on their own with theme of the story is Fairy Tale.
    3. The duration of each participants is 5-7 minutes During the speech the participant will be given notice of their time by knocking in overtime..
    4. Participants are required to wear clothing that is neat and polite, or use each school uniform or wear a costume that support the story.
    5. Participants may use the additional properties that favor its appearance.
    6. Assesments Score :
    1. Matter ( 40% ) :
    ·         Vocabulary (diction) 10 %
    ·         Story completion (no missing plot) (for prelim 1) 20 %
    ·         Punctuality of time 10 %
    ·         Creativity (for final Round > costume, equipment, imagination) 20 %


    2. Performance ( 60% ) :
    ·         Interaction (stage act, eye contact, costume, equipment) 20 %
    ·         Intonation 15 %
    ·         Expression and gesture 15 %
    ·         Pronunciation 10 %
